NSYSU College of Science Delegation Visits Silpakorn University

to Explore Academic and Student Exchange Opportunities

On the morning of August 11, 2026, a delegation from the College of Science at National Sun Yat-sen University (NSYSU) visited the Faculty of Engineering and Industrial Technology

at Silpakorn University in Thailand, where they received a warm welcome from the faculty’s administrators and academic staff.

The delegation was led by Professor Jyh-Tsung Lee, Dean of the College of Science, and included Professor May-Ru Chen, Associate Dean of the College of Science;

Professor Shuchen Hsieh, Chair of the Department of Chemistry; Professor Che-Hsin Lee, Chair of the Department of Biological Sciences; Professor Chien-Cheng Kuo,

Chair of the Department of Physics; Professor Tsung-Lin Lee, former Chair of the Department of Applied Mathematics; Professor Chih-Wei Chen,

current Chair of the Department of Applied Mathematics; Professor Chang-Yi Wu, Director of the International Ph.D. Program for Science;

and Professor Vincent C.-C. Wang of the Department of Chemistry.

The delegation was warmly received by Professor Sopark Sonwai, Vice Dean for International Affairs and International Relations, Faculty of Engineering and Industrial Technology,

together with faculty administrators and academic staff. Although the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Industrial Technology had a prior commitment and was unable

to participate throughout the entire visit, the Dean made a special appearance to welcome the NSYSU delegation, demonstrating the Faculty’s strong commitment to the exchange.

During the meeting, representatives from both institutions discussed potential areas of collaboration, including student exchange programs,

the Taiwan Experience Education Program (TEEP), and the International Internship Pilot Program.

  

The discussions enhanced mutual understanding and laid a solid foundation for developing concrete collaborative initiatives in the future.

In addition to meetings with department administrators and faculty members, the visit included classroom observation, an exchange of commemorative gifts,

and a group photo session, reflecting the warm friendship and positive engagement between the two institutions.

The College of Science at National Sun Yat-sen University extends its sincere appreciation to the Faculty of Engineering and Industrial Technology

at Silpakorn University and the entire hosting team for their warm hospitality and thoughtful arrangements.

The College looks forward to maintaining close ties with Silpakorn University and further strengthening the partnership between the two institutions through future academic and student exchanges.
