NSYSU College of Science Visits Queen’s University

A delegation from the College of Science at National Sun Yat-sen University (NSYSU), Taiwan, visited Queen’s University on July 28, 2026. The visit was warmly hosted by Queen’s Faculty of Arts and Science and the Office of the Vice-Provost, Global Engagement.

The delegation was led by Dr. Jyh-Tsung Lee, Dean of the College of Science, and included Dr. May-Ru Chen, Associate Dean of the College of Science; Dr. Shuchen (Suzanne) Hsieh, Chair of the Department of Chemistry; Dr. Che-Hsin Lee, Chair of the Department of Biological Sciences; Dr. Chien-Cheng Kuo, Chair of the Department of Physics; Dr. Tsung-Lin Lee, then Chair of the Department of Applied Mathematics; and Dr. Chang-Yi Wu, Chair of International PhD Program for Science.

The delegation was received by Dr. Kevin Kee, Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Science; Dr. Scott MacKenzie, Acting Vice-Dean; Dr. James Fraser, Associate Dean (Graduate); and Mr. Zhiyao Zhang, Director, Asia Region, Office of the Vice-Provost, Global Engagement, together with other Queen’s representatives. During the visit, the delegation was welcomed at Richardson Hall and visited the Shastri Lab. The group was also received by Dr. Philip Jessop, Canada Research Chair in Green Chemistry and Head of the Department of Chemistry.

The visit included an exchange of commemorative gifts and a group photograph, reflecting the friendly relationship between the two institutions.
