NSYSU College of Science Delegation Visits Maejo University to Strengthen Academic Partnership

 

On the morning of August 10, 2026, a delegation from the College of Science at National Sun Yat-sen University (NSYSU) visited Maejo University in Thailand,

where they received a warm welcome from the Faculty of Science and its faculty members.

The delegation was led by Professor Jyh-Tsung Lee, Dean of the College of Science, and included Professor May-Ru Chen,

Associate Dean of the College of Science; Professor Shuchen Hsieh, Chair of the Department of Chemistry; Professor Che-Hsin Lee,

Chair of the Department of Biological Sciences; Professor Chien-Cheng Kuo, Chair of the Department of Physics; Professor Tsung-Lin Lee,

former Chair of the Department of Applied Mathematics; Professor Chih-Wei Chen, current Chair of the Department of Applied Mathematics;

Professor Chang-Yi Wu, Director of the International Ph.D. Program for Science; and Professor Vincent C.-C. Wang of the Department of Chemistry.

The delegation was warmly received by Professor Yuwalee Unpaprom, Dean of the Faculty of Science at Maejo University,

together with faculty members and colleagues.

During the visit, the NSYSU delegation met with Professor Weerapon Thongma, President of Maejo University,

and engaged in academic discussions with members of the Faculty of Science.

 

The delegation also toured the university’s laboratories, providing an opportunity for both institutions to gain a deeper understanding

of each other’s academic and research strengths.

As part of the visit, the two universities held a signing ceremony for a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU),

marking an important step toward strengthening institutional collaboration.

Representatives from both universities also exchanged commemorative gifts and took group photographs,

reflecting the strong friendship and cordial relations between the two institutions.

The College of Science at National Sun Yat-sen University extends its sincere appreciation to Maejo University, the Faculty of Science,

and the entire hosting team for their warm hospitality and thoughtful arrangements.

  

The College looks forward to maintaining close ties with Maejo University and further deepening the partnership between

the two institutions through future academic and research collaboration.
