NSYSU College of Science Delegation Visits Thammasat University

A delegation from the College of Science at National Sun Yat-sen University (NSYSU) visited the Faculty of Science and Technology at Thammasat University

in Thailand on the morning of August 14, 2026. The delegation was warmly received by the faculty’s leadership and faculty members.

The delegation was led by Dr. Jyh-Tsung Lee, Dean of the College of Science. Its members included Dr. May-Ru Chen, Vice Dean of the College of Science;

Dr. Shu-Chen Hsieh, Chair of the Department of Chemistry; Dr. Che-Hsin Lee, Chair of the Department of Biological Sciences;

Dr. Chien-Cheng Kuo, Chair of the Department of Physics; Dr. Tsung-Lin Lee, former Chair of the Department of Applied Mathematics;

Dr. Chih-Wei Chen, current Chair of the Department of Applied Mathematics; Dr. Chang-Yi Wu, Director of the International Ph.D. Program for Science;

and Dr. Vincent C. C. Wang of the Department of Chemistry.

The delegation was received by Associate Professor Dr. Sarute Ummartyotin, Associate Dean for Research and Development;

Professor Dr. Peerasak Paoprasert, Associate Dean for Budget and Finance; Associate Professor Dr. Patchanok Srisuradetchai of the Department of Mathematics;

Associate Professor Dr. Chanathip Samart, Head of the Department of Chemistry; Dr. Tipsuda Chaipiboonwong of the Department of Physics;

Dr. Jaturon Kumchompoo of the Department of Chemistry;

and Associate Professor Suwadee Kongparakul of the Department of Urban Environmental Planning and Development.

During the meeting, both institutions introduced the academic development of their respective science programs and reviewed their existing collaborations.

They also exchanged views on the INTENSE Program, a bachelor’s-to-master’s pathway, and student internship opportunities.

The program included an exchange of commemorative gifts, a group photograph, and visits to the Departments of Mathematics and Chemistry,

reflecting the friendly relationship and active engagement between the two institutions.

The College of Science at NSYSU sincerely thanks the Faculty of Science and Technology at Thammasat University and the entire hosting team

for their generous hospitality and thoughtful arrangements.
