Faculty
There are 102 full-time faculty members, and all of them hold Ph.D. degrees. Most of them consistently receive annual grants from the Ministry of Science and Technology and Ministry of Education, and are recipients of distinguished academic awards, such as National Academic prizes (i.e. National Meeting Prize of Ministry of Education and National Science Excellence Research Prize), and NSYSU academic prizes (i.e. prizes for Sun Yat-sen Seminar, Siwan Chair and Sun Yat-sen Excellent Invention). They also have excellent performance in the publications of local and international research periodicals and often participate in various conferences.
The College of Science makes efforts to take part in the policy related to Teaching Development. It can be observed by the expenses of 190 million NT dollars the College has received over the last two years. In order to elevate the teaching quality and the effects, we make use of those expenses in the teaching improvement and students’ education, including research planning, course design, technique workshop, teaching consultation, assistant training, e-Learning promotion, and teaching and learning environment improvement. At the meantime, we integrate our abundant resources to assist students from different departments. The College of Science is on its way of becoming a college equipped with excellent teaching resources and learning environment.
